Mosvold Supply purchases four new vessels equipped with MaK engines
|
In cooperation with Mosvold Supply Ltd., former CEO of the Norwegian Broadcasting, NRK, John G. Bernander from Mosvold Shipping Holding has ordered four new VS-491 CD anchor handling vessels with 28,000 horsepower designed by Vik-Sandvik.
The vessels are built at Batamec Yards in India and are each equipped with two MaK 12V M 32 engines. The first two vessels will be delivered in October 2009 and June 2010.
Pon Power has the most extensive knowledge of MaK engines in Scandinavia and cooperates with Mosvold Supply as a owner's coverage project.

The M32 V-engine was introduced in 2000 in 12- and 16-cylinder versions. With a bore of 320 mm and a stroke of 420 mm, it covers a power range of 5.760 – 8.000 kW in the 720 and 750 rpm ranges.
The consistent application of MaK long-stroke engine design and development, along with the incorporation of as many in-line engine components as possible, is clearly and impressively demonstrated in the external configuration: - a compact, simple and clean design.
Reliable heavy fuel oil operation, low fuel and lubricating oil consumption, together with easy maintenance and long maintenance intervals, mean outstanding economical operation.
