Seafox 7 spotted in IJmuiden
The Seafox 7, built in Singapore in 2008, has been spotted in the harbour of IJmuiden(pictures taken May 13), where the legs of the Seafox are being lengthened up to a total of 79 meters.
Subsequently the Seafox 7 will undertake a short mission: to install and connect a compression module, operated by NAM, with a Caterpillar G3606 gas engine for compression drive, which was delivered by Pon Power Oil & Gas. This job will be realised in the Dutch section L2 of the North Sea.
Returning from this mission, the Seafox 7 will move to Rotterdam for the machine room modifications. Pon Power Oil & Gas supplied two C32 Caterpillar Offshore Generator sets together with a Topec Switchboard in 2009 in order to expand the main power capacity of this impressive platform.
The modifications will have to be finished by the end of July since the Seafox will commence operations in the Southern North Sea for a major oil company from August 2009 until initially Q3 2012 with option of running into 2014.
