The adjustment tolerances in modern engines are so fine that the air drawn into the engine must be as pure as possible. Incorrect air filtration can cause reduced power, and can ultimately damage the engine. Cat air filters have a radial seal for a better air-tight mounting than conventional air filters with an axial seal. The Ultra High Efficiency Radial Seal Filters are intended for an environment where fine particles and/or soot are present. Under these conditions, Cat filters last two to four times longer than standard filters. The Turbine PreCleaner is an air intake system that intercepts debris before it enters the air filter. This system extends the service life of these air filters by two to four times, in conditions of extreme air pollution.
Air filters must be replaced at least once annually. Certain applications call for more frequent replacement. The Air Filter Service Indicator tells you when it’s time to replace the filter. This indicator is easy to read, and shows the increasing resistance across the filter caused by accumulated dust and soot. The plain color band indicates the current flow resistance across the filter compared to the engine supplier’s maximum acceptable value.
