The Customer Service Centre has the disposal of two test beds for testing engines on a frame. The maximum mechanical test capacity is 3300kW at 1000 RPM and an electrical test capacity of 2000 kVA. The engines can be subjected to a loaded test run by means of a water brake. This enables measuring RPM and torque. In addition, temperatures, pressure, fuel and emission values, the turbo supercharging presses and the output are measured. The Pon Power test bed can also be used for classification acceptance testing (Lloyds`s and Bureau Veritas). In addition to engines, the Cat® test beds can also be used by third parties. Testing is not limited to only new engines.
Engines that have been adjust to meet emission regulations are tested for re-certification. Clients can monitor the test process from the control room.
