TAM inspection

In accordance with the instruction of Caterpillar® the valves and injectors of all engines must be adjusted after a preset number of operating hours. The number of operating hours depends on the engine type. Pon Power has further extended this servicing to include a TAM inspection which involves a thorough check of all vital components in the engine system.

This inspection includes the following:

  • Checking/adjusting valve play
  • Checking/adjusting injector play (if applicable)
  • Testing and adjusting alarms and shutdowns
  • Checking the quality of cooling water
  • Checking the turbo for excessive play
  • Loaded test run of the engine (if possible)
  • Checking for leaks

After having conducted this TAM inspection, a thorough report is drawn up. Any anomalies found during the inspection will be discussed with you in order to determine the next step.

The advantages of a TAM inspection

  • High level of operational reliability
  • Minimum of hazardous emissions
  • Minimum fuel consumption
  • Longer service life
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Retention of highest possible product value
  • Insight into the condition of the engine; the maintenance planning can be adjusted accordingly
