Thermographic examination
Thermography has recently become an important and useful tool in preventive maintenance.
The sophisticated technology behind thermography is able to reveal defects that might have unfortunate consequences if they are not corrected promptly. In addition to thermographic examination, our certified technicians offer repairs of any defects as well as thermographic controls after repairs. We offer thermographic examination of all types of switchboards and generators etc.
Generator service
Generators are often downgraded units of scheduled service and maintenance. Experience reveals, however, that there is a distinct need for regular service of generators as well as close follow-ups on any developments in wear and tear on mechanical and electrical parts.
Pon Power has long experience in service on low-voltage and medium voltage generators. We conduct annual preventive maintenance and renovation according to supplier specifications.
Preventive maintenance includes:
- Inspection of rotor/stator windings
- Vibration measurements
- Inspection of diodes/varistors
- Status inspection in connection with insulation measurements
- Inspection/replacement of bearings
- Cleaning of windings
- Inspection/post-tensioning of cables
Renovation includes:
- Replacement of bearings
- Cleaning of stator and rotor
- Enamelling of stator and rotor (VI — VPI)
- Balancing of rotor
- Test of generator (depending on size and voltage level)
Switchboard service - relay tests
Switchboards are often overlooked, when plant service is provided. Protective devices of every type should be tested at least once a year. Maximum cutouts and analog functions should be inspected at least once a year.
Using calibrated precision tools, we can control most of the protective functions and circuits that make high demands on precision.
SRO/SCADA systems
Centralized remote control and inspection is possible on the vast majority of engines, generator sets and processing plants. Our SRO/SCADA systems are built using the most recent technology, enabling monitoring of important plants and processes. They are based on extremely user-friendly and manageable software that contains many important facilities:
- PID pictures with rapidly updated objects
- Event log with time marking
- Reporting
- Alarm log
- Service and user menu
- Power management system
- History and trend curves
- User interface via the internet
Generator controls and PLCs
Pon Power has long experience in projecting and delivery of complex PLCs for generator sets and other industrial plants.
Through countless projects, our programmers have been able to adjust unique solutions to modern technical and financial requirements.
Our know-how within all types of operations comprise both development and delivery, installation and serial communication.
Vibration analysis
Many problems with engines/generator sets are caused by vibrations that in the long or short term are destructive in different manners.
It is very rarely sufficient just to follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. This must always be re-examined in connect with vibration measurements.
For plants that have been in operation for some time, the wear and tear on bearings as well as variation in alignment can slowly impose vibrations on the plant which can often only be revealed by means of measurement.
We always recommend annual vibration measurements which provide a decisive possibility to follow any developments. Our vibration measurement equipment is among the best of its kind, and our technicians are trained and experienced in vibration measurements of all types.
