A combined heat and power (CHP) system is a system in which a combustion engine is connected to a generator. This coupling generates both heat and electricity from one type of fuel, such as natural gas, biogas or LNG. It is a very efficient way of generating energy with many advantages.
Organisations that continuously have a high demand for heat and energy benefit from the advantages of combined heat and power (CHP). But a CHP system is also attractive for organisations that use CO2 in their processes, such as horticultural companies. With a CHP system, you create a small power plant that generates energy in a very efficient and environmentally friendly way.
The biggest advantage of CHP systems is their high efficiency. This is higher than if heat and electricity were generated separately from each other.
